Website Accessibility Update: WCAG 2.2 Compliance
At AddEvent, we’re committed to making our tools usable, accessible, and inclusive for everyone. As part of this commitment, we’ve updated all front-end facing tools to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards.
Front-end facing tools include:
- Event Landing Pages
- RSVP Landing Pages
- Embeddable Event & RSVP Forms
- Calendar Landing Pages
- Embeddable Calendars
These updates ensure users with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments can more effectively navigate and engage with our platform.
What’s included in this update:
- Improved keyboard navigation across all interactive elements
- Enhanced focus states and contrast ratios for better visibility
- Semantic HTML structure to support screen readers
- Accessible form labels, inputs, and error messages
- Compliance with success criteria up to WCAG 2.2 Level AA
Why this is important:
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) took effect on June 28, 2025, requiring compliance for digital services in the EU across industries like travel, banking, and e-commerce.
While WCAG 2.2 AA is not yet a universal requirement, it is considered the next-generation standard — and is likely to be mandated under updated regulations like EN 301 549. For some institutions (such as universities and public sector organizations), WCAG compliance is already essential for vendor approval.
Accessibility is no longer just a best practice — it’s a legal standard and a key part of creating trustworthy, user-centered digital experiences. If you encounter any accessibility issues or have feedback, please contact our support team.
