Here are the latest updates to the AddEvent dashboard, purposefully designed to make managing your events, calendars, and customizations easier than ever.

New Updates

• Updated the Advanced tab to split custom code into distinct sections.

Improvements and Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where events falling in week 1 of 2026 but dated in 2025 were not created correctly as part of an event series.
• Fixed an issue where disabling RSVP on an event could reset the event type to “Single event” for recurring events or event series.
• Fixed RSVP reminder and follow-up emails being sent at incorrect times after editing RSVP email settings.
• Updated RSVP follow-up emails to always be sent relative to the event end time for consistent behavior.
• Fixed calendar event counts not decrementing when events were moved between calendars, affecting both the dashboard and API.
• Fixed calendar event counts not decrementing immediately when events were deleted via the dashboard “more options” menu.
• Fixed alphabetical sorting in the dashboard event list to be case-insensitive.
• Fixed rendering issues on the event create and edit pages when calendars had very long titles.
• Fixed text rendering issues where words could break mid-word instead of wrapping correctly.
• Removed an extra hyperlinked space character that appeared between icons in the default Add to Calendar link style.
• Applied general performance optimizations and stability improvements.

Security Enhancements

• Added comprehensive input sanitization across the application to prevent XSS and other malicious input.
• Enforced role-based access control on backend endpoints.
• Made Script tags code section hidden on design templates by default unless explicitly enabled for an account.
• Addressed multiple issues identified during recent penetration testing.

Event Landing Page Time Zone and Date Format Updates

• Improved date and time formatting behavior on event landing pages when using templates without a time zone selector.
• When no time zone selector is present, event date and time formatting now defaults to the standard format of the event’s time zone, rather than always using a US-style format.
• This aligns event landing page behavior with existing logic for calendar landing pages and dynamic Add to Calendar links.
• When a time zone selector is included, event times continue to be displayed in the end-user’s predicted time zone with region-appropriate date and time formatting, and can be adjusted manually if needed.

The newest AddEvent release unlocks more customization, a cleaner experience, and deeper integration options. Here’s what's new:

Public Pages & Embeddable Widgets

• Moved the design template selector to the embeddable calendar preview page.
• Added dark mode and auto mode to the embeddable events list.
• Improved Add to Calendar link redirects and fixed in-app browser issues (Facebook/Instagram).
• Improved automatic hyperlinking and fixed formatting issues (line breaks, long links, extra tags).
• Added recurring rule display for Outlook.com/Office 365.
• Fixed issues with RSVP submission, all-day events in templates, and blocked-page explanations.

Mailchimp Extension

• Users on the Hobby plan can now add Follow Calendar or RSVP links.
• Fixed an issue with the size of images for Add to Calendar links and RSVP links rendering in Mailchimp.
• Fixed an issue where events from deleted calendars were appearing when they should not have been.
• Made several other updates including an updated link label for subscription calendars, and updated the ID used to reference events to the public unique key.

API

• Improved custom_data field search performance.

• Fixed missing RSVP reminder and follow-up emails for attendees created via the API.

The latest updates to AddEvent focus on increased flexibility, usability, and integration capabilities. Here's what's new:

Dashboard

• Added Select All and calendar sorting in the calendar list.
• Dashboard now remembers your last view (view type, date range, sort order, selected calendars).
• Improved search with selectable calendars, color indicators, and restored RSVP attendee search.
• Fixed multiple issues with RSVP emails, attendee data, confirmation messages, and special characters.
• Fixed display issues with long links, Safari rendering, and calendar previews for Hobby users.
• Fixed several bugs affecting all-day events, timezone display, analytics graphs, weekly view start day, template changes not applying, and various UI rendering states.
• Removed Facebook sign-in due to ongoing issues.
• Fixed missing RSVP names, RTL formatting issues, CSV header splits, and editing limitations.
• Fixed recurring issues including incorrect February dates, week-1 edge cases, and incorrect day/week selection when weeks start on Sunday.

Dynamic Add to Calendar

• Automated Events is now Dynamic Add to Calendar.
• Added a dedicated tab for setup, testing, validation, and URL encoding.
• Added Logs to view recent Add to Calendar clicks for debugging.
• Renamed Domains → Websites and added direct verification plus analytics links.

We’ve redesigned AddEvent from the ground up to make it faster, more organized, and easier to customize your events and calendars.

Here’s what’s new and what’s moved:

Dashboard Improvements

• Navigation has moved to the left-hand side for better workspace visibility, and quick-access to Design Templates, RSVP Forms, and Analytics.
• View multiple calendars at once and see key stats (events, subscribers) at a glance.
• New weekly view, enhanced monthly view, and faster Quick Create options with more event fields.
• List View replaces Schedule/All Events, combining them into a single, filterable view.

Calendars

• Color palettes are now managed at the account level (not per calendar).
• Add calendar images, preview landing pages, and get your sharing methods all on the calendar details page.

Events & RSVPs

• RSVP settings have moved to a dedicated tab on the event edit page.
• RSVP attendees now appear on their own page, with a one-off Email Attendees tool and WYSIWYG editor.
• Event images and previews are now supported on landing pages and lists.

Design Templates

• Introduced a new no-code Design Templates editor for event and calendar pages and embeddable calendars.
• Quick Customize and Custom HTML templates are retired.
• You can still add custom code in the Advanced Customization tab (Pro & Enterprise only).
• Templates now include live previews, duplication, and deletion tools.

RSVP Forms

• Now fully no-code with simplified tabs for setup, fields, and emails.
• WYSIWYG email editor replaces the old plain text setup—easier formatting, images, and previews.

Real-Time Analytics

• Access real-time analytics directly from event or calendar detail pages.
• Account-level overview shows recent usage, with detailed views for individual events or calendars.

AddEvent 2.0 streamlines navigation, centralizes key settings, introduces no-code design and RSVP tools, and improves visibility across calendars, events, and analytics.

External Calendar Sync is now available on all plans

In an effort to make your event and calendar management as seamless as possible, we’ve recently unlocked External Calendar Sync for everyone — including users on a Hobby plan. Previously, this feature was only available on paid plans, but it’s now readily available for anyone to use.

New: “Manual Import” option for Subscription Calendars

When your audience subscribes to a calendar, we want to make sure it’s a smooth and frictionless experience, which is why we’ve added a Manual Import option for subscription calendar flows.

Sometimes, when subscribing to a calendar, the automatic redirect doesn’t work as expected. This can happen in various instances, particularly when dealing with Outlook, Yahoo Calendar, and Apple Calendars. Now, if a subscription doesn’t import correctly the first time, your users will see an “Import manually” button on the confirmation page. Clicking it opens a step-by-step guide tailored to their chosen calendar platform, making it easier to complete the subscription without any frustration.

Updated: Default Page Titles for Event & Calendar Landing Pages

We want your event and calendars to be front and center with your audience, so we’ve added the event or calendar title to the page title that appears in the browser tab. This will improve visibility for your events and calendars when they are bookmarked.

Still want to customize your page titles manually? No problem! Use a custom template!

As part of our ongoing commitment to platform security and data integrity, we've added Google reCAPTCHA to RSVP forms on event landing pages. This helps prevent bots from submitting large volumes of responses in a short time.

reCAPTCHA runs silently in the background — attendees may see a small badge, but the form experience remains seamless.

No action is required on your part.

Why this is important:

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) took effect on June 28, 2025, requiring compliance for digital services in the EU across industries like travel, banking, and e-commerce.

While WCAG 2.2 AA is not yet a universal requirement, it is considered the next-generation standard — and is likely to be mandated under updated regulations like EN 301 549. For some institutions (such as universities and public sector organizations), WCAG compliance is already essential for vendor approval.

Basic Requirements:

• Publicly facing events that don’t require a membership
• A calendar that doesn’t require subscriber collection information
• Event and Calendar descriptions
• Horizontal images to be provided upon being accepted to CalendarX
