RSVP Events on a Subscription Calendar

This help doc explains the how a subscription calendar and RSVP event can be used simultaneously as well as what the end-user experience is as a calendar subscriber and event attendee.

End-user Experience

When a subscription calendar is shared, and some or all events are RSVP-enabled, AddEvent makes two helpful updates to the event so the subscriber can see it is RSVP-enabled. Below are the changes.

  1. RSVP-enabled events will automatically include [RSVP] before the title to make subscribers aware that this is a unique event with a call to action.
  1. Within the event description, AddEvent will also include a link for subscribers to easily navigate to the RSVP landing page to register for the event. This link is included before the event's description, and no other changes are being made to your event's details.

📘

If you choose to use subscription calendars and RSVP events simultaneously, it is important to remember that once someone registers for your event they will be presented with an add to calendar button. If the attendee adds the event to their calendar individually, the event will not have the dynamic connection that your subscription calendar does. If any changes are made to the event, it will only reflect on the copy of the event that lives in the subscription calendar feed.
