AddEvent does not collect personal information from users who interact with standard add-to-calendar buttons or links to add events to their calendars. This ensures compliance with GDPR and CCPA data privacy laws. However, if you wish to collect personal information from your users—such as names, email addresses, or other custom data—you can do so through the following methods:
- Enable RSVP for Events
- When RSVP functionality is enabled for an event, users can submit their information through the RSVP form.
- The submitted information is securely stored and can be viewed on the event page via your AddEvent Dashboard.
- This is a simple way to gather attendee details for individual events.
- Collect Information via Calendar Subscriptions
- Users who subscribe to your AddEvent calendar can be prompted to provide personal information during the subscription process.
- You can customize the questions asked during subscription to collect specific information, such as names, email addresses, or other relevant data.
- This method allows you to gather ongoing subscriber details for broader engagement.
It’s important to note that AddEvent only collects personal information through these two methods. For all other interactions with add-to-calendar buttons or links, no personal identifiable information (PII) is gathered.
