Set a Timezone
This help doc shows you how to edit an individual event’s timezone. You can also set a default timezone on your calendar so that events created in that calendar are automatically created in the timezone of the calendar. For this help doc, follow the steps to see how to edit the timezone at the event level.
Updating the timezone of an event
From the dashboard:
- Click on the event to update, and then click Edit.
- Select the timezone from the dropdown (pictured below).
What happens if there is no timezone assigned to the event?
We only recommend removing the timezone from your event if you want the event to occur at the same time for everyone, no matter where they are in the world/what timezone they are in. For example, this could be for events you want to treat as reminders.
Timezone selector on the event landing page
The timezone you set for your event is what the timezone selector will adjust the time displayed to people viewing your event landing page. When the user accesses the event landing page, the page parses their IP and adjusts the timezone accordingly to the IP location. This change is only visual and doesn't affect the timezone in which the event will be added to the calendar (it will be added in the calendar's timezone).
If the event is showing at the wrong time for you on your event landing page, know that the event will save correctly and adjust to the timezone of the calendar user that saves the event to their calendar.
Set a timezone for all events created
If you want all events to be created in the same timezone going forward, set the timezone at the calendar level. This can be done by editing your calendar.
All events will be adjusted to account for Daylight Savings time changes - you do not need to do anything, it will happen automatically for all events that have a time zone applied.
