When adding events to your calendar on an iPhone, when also using a browser other than Safari, we are forced to "subscribe" a user to the event because of limitations with iOS imposed by Apple (read more here: Add to Calendar on iPhone). While this solution is far from ideal, it's unfortunately our only option for this scenario and our best effort to "make it work"– if we didn't subscribe the end-user to the event, they would receive an error.

There is a tradeoff here since the end-user is "subscribed" to the event; it will periodically try to hit our services to refresh. This will result in an additional event-add being recorded for that event when that happens.
