Google Calendar Incident
Google Calendar Subscription Calendar Issue
Issue summary
We are aware of a Google Calendar bug that prevents new subscription calendars (initial imports) from working correctly. Instead of displaying events, Google Calendar may show a blank step. This is an issue on Google’s end and affects all calendar services, not just AddEvent.
What we’re doing
- AddEvent has reported the bug to Google.
- We encourage you to also report the issue directly to Google: Google Support Contact
- Please know this bug is on Google’s side and out of AddEvent’s direct control. See our workaround below!
Workaround solution
We have implemented a workaround that provides clear instructions for manually subscribing to calendars in Google Calendar.
- When users click “Add to Calendar” → “Google,” instead of taking them directly to Google Calendar, we’re now directing them to Google’s manual import instructions.
- Try it yourself here: https://www.addevent.com/calendar/ih348885
This temporary solution has been automatically implemented. When Google resolves this bug, we will revert to the normal subscription process for Google Calendar users.
