Updating Already Shared Events

Non-RSVP events

Non-RSVP enabled events are single, standalone events shared through Add to Calendar buttons, links, or automated events.

• Behavior of Updates: When you update a normal event that has already been added to an end-user’s calendar, the update will not appear on the calendars of end-users who have added the event to their calendar before the update.
• For Future End-Users: Any end-users who add the event to their calendar after the update is made will see the updated version on their calendar service.
• Typical Use Case: Non-RSVP events are created in the AddEvent Dashboard and do not have RSVP enabled.

RSVP-enabled events

RSVP-enabled events allow you to collect attendee information and manage event participation.

• Behavior of Updates: Similar to non-RSVP events, updates to RSVP-enabled events will not appear on calendars of end-users who have added the event to their calendars before the update was made.
• For Future Users: Any end-users who add the event to their calendar after the update is made will see the updated version on their calendar service.
• Notifying Attendees of Changes: If you need to notify registered attendees about event updates:
  1. Use AddEvent’s Email Attendees tool located on the RSVP event's RSVP attendees page.
  2. Alternatively, you can use your preferred email vendor to send email notifications after downloading your RSVP attendee list.

Events Shared via Subscription Calendars

Subscription calendars allow you to share multiple events as part of one dynamic calendar that users can subscribe to.

• Behavior of Updates: When an end-user subscribes to a calendar, a dynamic connection is established between their personal calendar and the AddEvent subscription calendar.
• Automatic Updates: Any changes, such as added, deleted, or modified events will automatically sync to subscribers' personal calendars.
• Update Timing: Changes may take a short time to reflect on end-users' calendars, depending on the calendar service's sync frequencies. To learn more about each calendar service's sync frequency, see our help doc here.
• Advantage: This feature ensures that subscribers always have the most up-to-date information for all events in the calendar.
