Form Fields
This doc explains how the different form field types in RSVP forms and forms to collect subscriber information for subscription calendars work.
When creating an RSVP event, you can use the RSVP form to gather essential information from your attendees. Additionally, when sharing a subscription calendar, you can choose to collect subscriber information before your subscribers can subscribe to your calendar.
AddEvent offers a variety of customizable fields to ensure you collect the data necessary for a successful event or to maintain a subscribers list. Below is an overview of the available form field types and their functionalities:
Text
A simple text input where responses can include both letters and numbers.
Email
A text input field requiring a valid email address format. Forms cannot be submitted unless the input includes an @ sign and follows standard email formatting.
Number
A numeric input field where registrants can enter a number manually or adjust it using arrow controls. The counter increments or decrements by 1.
Date
Provides dropdown menus for Month, Day, and Year. The format is MM/DD/YYYY.
Checkbox (marketing consent)
A checkbox to request registrants to consent to the information you choose to include in the text input field provided. This can be configured to be mandatory for registrants to select before submitting the form.
Radio buttons (select one option)
A list of options displayed with radio buttons. Registrants can choose only one option at a time. The maximum number of options is 15.
Dropdown (select one option)
A dropdown list of options displays to choose from. Registrants can select only one of the available options. Each option can include up to 50 characters. You can include up to 15 options per dropdown field.
Country
A standard dropdown menu listing countries.
US States
Similar to the Country field, this dropdown allows users to select a U.S. state.
Query string (hidden)
Passes user data in the background, such as from a URL with tracking parameters. This field is invisible to users but records the associated data with the specified variable for later use.
Query string (text)
Allows you to assign a variable for data submission. You define the variable name and include a prompt or question in the field. Registrants’ responses are recorded with the assigned variable for later use.
Custom HTML
Enables the inclusion of custom HTML elements, such as line breaks or other formatting, within the form.
Please note that the Checkbox (marketing consent) and the Custom HTML form field options are not available for collecting subscriber information.
