Email & RSVP Messaging System
AddEvent uses a connected system of tools to manage how RSVP events collect responses and send email communications.
This system is made up of four core components:
- RSVP Forms: collect attendee information and responses
- Notification Flows: automate emails based on event and attendee actions
- Email Design Templates: control the look and layout of emails
- Sender Settings & Domains: control who emails are sent from and domain authentication
Each component works independently, but they come together when an event is created.
How the system works
When someone registers for an event:
- The RSVP form collects their response and details (you can apply a custom RSVP form to an event)
- The response triggers a notification flow (if assigned to the event)
- Each notification uses an email design template (if assigned to the notification flow)
- Emails are sent using a verified sender domain and sender identity (if verified in settings and applied to the email design)
Core components
RSVP Forms
RSVP forms define the questions attendees answer when registering for an event.
They do not control:

Notification Flows
Notification flows control when emails are sent and who receives them.
They are triggered by:

- Event start or end times
- Changes to attendee responses

Email Design Templates
Email designs control the layout, branding, and structure of emails sent through notification flows and manual attendee emails.
They do not control:
- When emails are sent
- Who receives emails

Sender Settings & Domains
Sender settings control the email identity used when sending emails, including:
- Sender name
- Sender email address
